Day Three- A Restful Day in Antigua
Today was a huge contrast to our past two days here in Guatemala. We had the rare opportunity to sleep in past 7:00… all the way till 8:00am! We got to enjoy shopping at some of the local markets, visiting some of the most popular churches and monuments in Antigua, and ended our day making tortillas and practicing our model poses while wearing the unique hand-woven clothing that is
Lending A Hand With The Physical And The Spiritual…
From Jay: Today started with the early sounds of committed boys getting ready for school. The boys and girls were well on their way with school before I was even out of bed. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were again provided by Norma and several girls who create meals that are nothing short of amazing. This morning the group continued painting on two different buildings and are nearing finished as well as working on the
Testimonies, Paint & VBS Kickoff
From Bill: Two things struck me today. This school has so many 3-15 year old girls and boys who are the embodiment of the spirit of Jesus. Watching them sing, dance, and pray you can really see that they understand. The testimony of one of these girls was awesome. She detailed how she lost her mother at a very early age. And yet, her memories of her living conditions were pleasant (even funny) despite
Sunday
From Jackie: Betsy, who is the founder and director of Jericho Ministries, told her story today and it was A-mazing! She is SO inspiring in her Faith and Trust in what God is doing. She had so many stories of how God has showed up and how her struggles turn into opportunities to share Jesus and people come to the Lord thru it! She has challenged me to get back to fasting more and

Goodbye’s in Nueva Florida
This post by Melissa Today was the day I intentionally didn’t plan for. The day I didn’t think about until it came. When Pastor Shane called out “20 minutes to say our goodbye’s” it hit me, a shock to my system. Our last moments with the whole community of Nueva Florida, my new extended Familia. What words could I say to express how I felt? Even if I knew enough Spanish to get my
Goodbye’s are Coming
This post by Shane Tomorrow we will say goodbye. It will be a difficult day for everyone filled with tears and full hearts. But that is a story for tomorrow. Today was a pretty typical day in the life of a mission trip to Peñasquitos. There was some work on a home and we put on a VBS for the kids. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch and a snack of coffee and cookies, both
