Day One- Light in the Dark
“my mind it longs for thee, my soul, it knows what it needs that your spirit would move in me that your presence would bonded be, I’ve encountered the spirit, felt the love of the Father, found my life in the Savior, and it changed me forever. I’ve encountered the goodness, felt the truth in the power, been saved Jesus, I will praise Him forever” – Jervais Campbell These
Sunday in Guatemala
Dan Today’s blog post is from our whole family. All four of us are on this trip. You’ll get to see the day from 4 different perspectives. We promise we wont read each others’ entries until they are posted. This is Dan’s (dad’s) view of the day. The day started with church at our host church, Iglesia Galilea. It was a great Sunday service, not so very different from a Sunday morning service at
God Hears Our Prayers
Friday started with a HUGE spider crawling up our wall. I am talking HUGE! The kind of spider that you think you can kill from a distance, but the closer you get the bigger it gets and the hairier it looks. We still have spider legs sprinkled on the floor because they were that gross to pick up. I also learned that lukewarm showers, may not sound so terrible, BUT in reality are traumatizing.
First Day of Clinic
Today was definitely life changing for me. It’s not like I have never served before, or been out of the country before or seen people going through hard times, but what will stay for me forever is the attitudes that these people choose to have. If we were in america, you probably wouldn’t see people that had to wait in line to see a nurse or doctor for multiple hours have a big smile

We successfully made the sensory filled 3 hour trip to the airport. Along the way we were grateful for God’s direction and protection as we saw the remnants of roadblocks that were up only a day ago. Thank

Day 8 of Dougie Road Trip. Today we made snowmen and snow angels in the rocks. As the trip comes to an end, everyone with their high and mighty iPhones have been airdropping fond memories to each other. Not much happened in the A.M. hours of the day, so I’ll spare you a drawn out description of everyone talking while Daniel went out looking for spiders again. I couldn’t remember what we had
Busy Days at UCI
The morning greeted us with clear skies and cool breezes. This refreshment was needed for the busy day of ministry. We have been so thankful for the cooks that have taken good care of us and this morning we had oatmeal, toast, papaya fruit and Haitian coffee. We also said farewell to the team from Iowa that was serving here with us. The team was delayed in their departure because of the nationwide protests,
