Happy Birthday in Haiti!

Lifeline Community - Haiti 2018|

Seraphina doesn’t want me to tell you it was her 16th birthday today, so I won’t mention it. :-) We did some sneak decorating last night and somehow Seraphina missed the balloon popping! Today we spent the morning helping put in a cement floor. A couple Haitians were hired to run the project and we helped where we could. We transported some buckets of fill dirt to put on the floor, and we hauled

Greetings From Haiti!

Lifeline Community - Haiti 2018|

This post by Melissa & Kate We woke up this morning to roosters crowing and the constant drone of motorcycles bringing children to school.  Over 1300 children attend the school here at UCI (grades K3-9th), so you can imagine the steady stream pouring onto campus.  It’s amazing to see how many people can fit on a motorcycle…the record today was seven! After a hearty breakfast, we headed off to the market while Bill started

Legliz

This post by Tom Church day! I had to ask Eric Rogers (our team’s Creole expert) what the Creole word for church was – Legliz. After a well deserved good night’s sleep, that helped us recover from the previous days very active schedule, we had a light breakfast and headed to church. Church is in a great building that has open walls (which was emphasized by the rooster and the dog visitors)  . It

Hello From Haiti

Lifeline Community - Haiti 2018|

10/13/18 Hello from Haiti! Waking up in a different bed is always a fun experience. You open your eyes and look around, trying to remember where you are. Most of us actually slept really well. Breakfast was at 8am and came with delicious, fluffy pancakes with syrup and peanut butter. It is amazing to see the kind of resources that JeanJean and Kristie get through the locals and from donations, that can make home

Bonjou from Haiti!

There was some trouble with the blog this morning so this post is getting added a little late! This post by Susie After a rather late night/early morning we have arrived. We departed SLC at 12:27AM, Friday morning. Most of us attempted to catch a few winks on the 3 hour flight to Charlotte, NC. We landed there quite a bit early despite all the news of hurricanes and the like, and the turbulence

Our Final Day!

Medical Mission - Guatemala July 2018|

From Jamie: As the week of clinic comes to an end I am filled with a mix of emotions and amazing experiences. This is my second trip with this amazing team to Guatemala and I was lucky enough to be able to bring along Adrienne, my 15 year old daughter. As a nurse I can see the value in providing much needed medical care to this community, no matter how small it may seem.

Love in Action

Medical Mission - Guatemala July 2018|

From Rachel: Today was another busy day at the clinic, caring for around 124 patients. Most of the patients we saw today are from the community and do not attend the local church. These days are great opportunities for the pastors of the local church to make connections with these families and for us to share Christ’s love with them. In the morning there was a constant flow of patients of all ages. I
