Today we were all back in the clinic all day and everyone looked extremely busy seeing patients.  It’s amazing how fast the days go down here serving these unbelievably grateful people!!   This is my first trip down to Guatemala so I really didn’t know what to expect other than to come down with a servant heart and help as many people with the skills God has given me.  The new clinic is very functional and allows us all to serve so many more people than what I have heard in the past and we have been able to expand our services as well.    Hearing stories about the trips 7-8 years ago which was limited to mostly just extractions in the dental clinic has now expanded to cleanings, fluoride treatments, and all types of restorations of both front and back teeth.  There is nothing like watching someone come in with broken down front teeth that are cavitated and discolored and having them leave with a restored smile!!  As much as I am super excited to get back to see my family I am saddened thinking I only have one more clinic day before we make the trek back to our homes in the US.  I know this trip has extremely changed my view of life and what is important and the everyday stresses we all face living in the culture we do.  The people and communities we are serving are so grateful and so happy even when they have so little.  I have heard this from so many different people that have experienced these types of trips but it is  just so different to experience it in person and be a part of this amazing mission to serve the Guatemalan people.   The team that was assembled has been nothing short of amazing as well!!  Its so fun to work along  side a crew of people  with such a heart for God and are willing to serve in any way they can.
